Southampton FC 125th Anniversary Logo
Task Southampton Football Club, celebrating their 125th anniversary wanted a new and bespoke logo that would celebrate this milestone in the history of the Club.
The brief was to respect the equities of the Southampton crest but create enough of a differentiation that would appeal to fans and sponsors alike and instantly communicate the historical nature of the new badge.
Solution The key element to communicate is the ‘125’ element and it made sense to feature this at the top of the crest replacing the existing football. The key equity of the halo is naturally maintained (Southampton’s nick name is ‘The Saints’) and it hovers proudly above the ‘125’ message.
Gold detailing was added throughout to offer premium values into the detail and the 1885-2010 dates were added either side of the Club shield.
The badge will be featured on a number of specifically designed products including the first team playing shirt.
